After putting the vials through strict quality tests, the Central Drugs Laboratory in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, has certified for market distribution about 250,000 doses of the Zydus vaccine.

The Indian Drugs Controller General issued ZyCoV-D emergency use authorization on August 20, although it has yet to be included in the immunisation campaign.
